Postal code is a system to improve the efficiency of delivery. There really are some countries or regions that do not use postal code. For one reason is that the country has other system that replaced by postal code, such as: some countries use Po box address replace the physical address, so that the Po box number can be used as postal code. there are some other small area that do not have enough delivery volume that may not need use postal code.
As far as I know, the postal code only used for a basis in Addis Ababa in Ethiopia, if you have any questions about it, you can go to local post office for help.
